Be a Volunteer Teacher at Intercambio

Intercambio is a nonprofit organization that started in 2001. Starting out of a basement, the concept of uniting people beyond language barrier differences has grown into a successful and inspirational program. You can help.

Intercambio needs teaching volunteers and before you think you couldn't do it, know that you don't need prior teaching experience and you do not need to know Spanish. Intercambio provides two, three hour training sessions where tips will be given on pronunciation, grammar, vocab and how to make the classroom fun and exciting.

You don't need to worry about creating your own curriculum either; there are 12 books that outline what to to teach. If you're worried about your schedule, the program is flexible and they can work with you.

If you have more questions contact Intercambio. You can help unite our community.

Emergency Family Assistance Association

Happy Holidays from the Bernardi Real Estate Group! It is the season for giving, and I wanted to share some information about a great charity that is near to my heart. Being a former recipient of EFAA's generous support I love continuing to contribute to their amazing cause. Please watch this video for more information on what EFAA does and how you can help.

We are from the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA), the oldest nonprofit organization in Boulder County, CO. For 96 years we have served the residents in need throughout our community.

While Boulder County is perceived as an affluent population, there are many families struggling to make ends meet. In fact, 1 out of every 5 Boulder residents earn under $25,000 a year.

EFAA helps those families in various different ways: rent, food, toiletries, minor medical expenses, etc. We also connect our clients with other resources in the community that could help them.

In 2012 we helped more that 19,000 families, gave more than $625,000 in financial assistance and gave more than 700,000 pounds of food. We need your help to go beyond that this year. Please consider helping the EFAA protect and provide for those less fortunate in our community by clicking on the options below:

How is the market after the impact of the flood?

Welcome back to my video blog. I’ve had so many people ask me how the flood has affected the market.

Well, we have a need for homes. About 10 percent of the homes that had been listed needed to come off the market because of water damage.

We have a demand for homes. Buyers have their checks from FEMA or their insurance companies and they need a place to live.

If you’re thinking about putting your home on the market, NOW is the time. There is a demand for your property! Give me a call so we can get started.

4 Tips to Get Your Dream Home

Hi everyone, welcome back to our video blog. Lately we’ve had a lot of people come to us because they are frustrated with their current agent. They are making offers on properties and not getting them.

At the Bernardi Group, we have a trusted reputation of getting things done. I’ve been in real estate for thirty years. I always tell people, ‘this isn’t my first rodeo.’ I have seen this kind of market before and that’s why it’s important to get an experienced agent.

I have just a few tips on how to get your offer to stand out when there are multiple offers on the table.
  • Be first in. It’s important to have an agent who is actively looking for homes for you. We even knock on doors in the neighborhood you’re looking in to spark seller interest!

  • Be prequalified. You want to show you are a serious buyer and make it appear that you are a cash buyer. That way at closing all you have to do is get an appraisal.

  • Make it personal. Write a lover letter. Tell the seller why this house means so much to you!

  • Have an agent that is well connected in the real estate community.

These are just a few of the tips we have to help you. So if you’re ready to move into your dream home, give us a call at 303.402.6001!
